The 2024 Honda NT1100 Touring Motorcycle features a steel semi-double-cradle frame with a relatively short wheelbase and responsive steering geometry. Suspension consists of 43 mm Showa cartridge-type inverted front forks and a single-tube rear shock absorber. Rear spring preload can be adjusted hydraulically. Braking performance is provided by dual 310 mm front discs with four-piston radial-mount callipers, while the tyres are 120/70-17 at the front and 180/55-17 at the rear.
The engine delivers strong performance from the twin-cylinder unit derived from the Africa Twin, but its intake and exhaust systems are tuned to provide exceptionally smooth acceleration and a pleasing low-rpm sound. Despite its performance, fuel efficiency remains impressive, allowing a riding range of approximately 400 kilometres from the 20-litre fuel tank.

The electronic equipment package includes three-level Honda Selectable Torque Control, Wheelie Control, full LED lighting, self-cancelling turn indicators and Emergency Stop Signals. Honda’s six-speed Dual Clutch Transmission is also available as an option and fits naturally with the touring-focused design of the 2024 Honda NT1100 Touring Motorcycle.

Styling & Equipment
From the beginning, the 2024 Honda NT1100 Touring Motorcycle was designed to combine sporting agility with long-distance comfort. Its styling incorporates smooth surfaces and clean character lines, creating a refined, understated appearance while still emphasising dynamic performance.
The design language flows from front to rear, creating a sense of balanced elegance. At the same time, the motorcycle’s shape is carefully engineered to enhance the riding experience through functional aerodynamics.

Upper and lower wind deflectors are fitted as standard and help protect the rider’s arms and lower body from wind and weather. The windscreen provides five adjustment positions, offering a total range of 164 mm between the lowest and highest settings. At its lowest setting, airflow is directed around the rider’s shoulders, while the highest setting channels air over the helmet for improved protection during highway riding. Heated grips and new cruise control are also included as standard equipment.
The riding position comfortably integrates the rider into the motorcycle’s fairing. A wide, well-padded seat provides generous comfort for both rider and passenger, with a seat height of 820 mm. A large passenger grab rail extends from the rear rack to provide secure support.
The exhaust muffler is positioned low to maximise available pannier space. The detachable panniers, which are included as standard equipment, are one of the NT1100’s most practical features. They are intentionally designed to remain relatively slim for easier manoeuvring in urban environments, with an overall width of 901 mm at their widest point. The panniers provide 33 litres of storage on the left side and 32 litres on the right.

The 6.5-inch TFT touchscreen display is bright and easy to read, and it offers three layout options. The GOLD display emphasises numeric information and riding modes, the SILVER display highlights the speedometer and tachometer, and the BRONZE display focuses primarily on the tachometer. Riders can also choose between default, black or white background colours. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Bluetooth connectivity allow smartphone functions to be accessed directly through the TFT interface.
Additional premium equipment includes full LED lighting with Daytime Running Lights, self-cancelling turn indicators and Emergency Stop Signals. Practical features are further enhanced by the inclusion of a USB charging socket, a centre stand and an ACC power socket.
Chassis
The 2024 Honda NT1100 Touring Motorcycle is built on the durable steel semi-double cradle frame used by the CRF1100L Africa Twin, along with a bolt-on aluminium rear subframe. While the Africa Twin is designed for off-road capability, the NT1100 uses suspension components and geometry optimised specifically for road performance.
The 43 mm Showa cartridge-type inverted front forks provide 150 mm of travel and feature adjustable spring preload. The rear suspension uses a single-tube pressurised Showa shock absorber with 150 mm of axle travel and a 14 mm diameter rod. Spring preload can be adjusted hydraulically and remotely, which simplifies setup when carrying a passenger or luggage.

The aluminium wheels are produced using a fine die-casting process with a sand core, creating a hollow hub centre for the front wheel. The intersecting spoke pattern improves straight-line vibration absorption while maintaining high cornering rigidity. Tire sizes are 120/70-17 at the front and 180/55-17 at the rear.

The wheelbase measures 1,535 mm, while rake and trail are set at 26.5 degrees and 108 mm, respectively. Ground clearance is 175 mm. The NT1100 has a kerb weight of 238 kg with the manual transmission and 248 kg when equipped with the Dual Clutch Transmission.
Braking performance is provided by dual 310 mm front discs paired with lightweight four-piston radial-mount callipers. The rear brake uses a 256 mm disc with a single-piston calliper, and the entire braking system is controlled by ABS.
Engine
Power comes from the proven 1,084 cc SOHC eight-valve parallel-twin engine originally developed for the CRF1100L Africa Twin. The engine produces a peak power of 75 kW at 7,250rpm and a peak torque of 104 Nm at 6,250 rpm. The compression ratio is 10.1:1, and the engine also retains the 270-degree crankshaft configuration and uneven firing interval found in the Africa Twin.
Throttle By Wire manages engine control while Programmed Fuel Injection supplies the throttle bodies. Although the engine shares its core design with the Africa Twin, its intake duct length and exhaust system have been optimised to deliver smoother acceleration and a deeper, more refined low-rpm exhaust note. This tuning also supports relaxed highway cruising, making the engine particularly well-suited to the NT1100’s touring role.
The engine crankcases are horizontally split, and the water pump is integrated within the clutch housing, with the thermostat located in the cylinder head. Both the manual and dual-clutch transmission versions share the same crankcase design with only minor external differences.
Secondary vibrations are minimised by the reciprocating motion of the pistons, while primary inertial and coupling vibrations are counterbalanced by biaxial balance shafts. Both the water pump and oil pump are driven by the balancer shafts.
A crank pulsar with reluctor teeth spaced at 10-degree intervals monitors engine operation and supports misfire detection for OBD2 and Euro 5 emissions compliance. In addition, Linear Air Flow sensors located in the exhaust downpipes provide precise measurement of the air-fuel mixture.
Engine Electronics
Throttle By Wire controls engine response and character while also managing Honda Selectable Torque Control and Wheelie Control. Riders can choose from three unique preset riding modes designed for different conditions. Additionally, there are three levels of adjustment for engine power and engine braking, where level 1 provides the strongest response. For traction control and wheelie control, level 3 represents the highest level of intervention.
Riding modes are selected using the left-hand handlebar switchgear, and the instrument display indicates when traction control is active.
The URBAN mode is the default setting and provides a balanced combination of engine power and engine braking suitable for everyday riding conditions.
RAIN mode decreases engine power and engine braking to improve stability and confidence on wet or slippery surfaces.
TOUR mode delivers full engine power with standard engine braking, providing strong acceleration even when carrying luggage or a passenger.

Two USER modes allow riders to customise settings to their preferences. Once configured, these user settings are automatically stored and remain active each time the motorcycle is started.
