The new 2024 KTM 300 EXC Dirt Bike is one of the best-known names in hard enduro. It delivers a bulletproof, fuel-injected 2-stroke engine that unleashes massive low-end torque and a top-end gun while mastering challenging terrain. The 2024 KTM 300 EXC Dirt Bike is ready to take on the toughest enduro terrain in the world with new suspension, a new frame, and fresh construction.
The 4-stroke range is the most concise range of models. All models in the 4-stroke range benefit from Class Winning Engines, designed to provide huge low torque with an explosive feed to higher RPMs.
We improved the centre of gravity by tilting the engine back 2° and moving the front wheel 3 mm deeper for better handling and manoeuvrability. Along with the benefits of mass centralisation and reduced weight, the chassis’s anti-squat behaviour has improved significantly, boosting traction on extreme gradients and in corners on special enduro stages.

2024 KTM 300 EXC Dirt Bike – Features and Specs
Air filter box
Maximum airflow with minimal water entry: a new air filter box is built with precisely placed inlet ducts to prevent air distortion and protect the filter. Enduro-specific spray protection under the airbox prevents water or dirt from the rear wheel from entering. At the same time, the Twin Air filter and air filter support design uses a simple, failure-proof mounting system for secure, accurate installation and tool-free access for fast trackside maintenance.
Fuel Tank
The transparent polythene (XPE) fuel tank is a signature element of the KTM Enduro lineup. This lets you check your fuel level at a glance. Years of development have made it the strongest, most reliable fuel tank yet. A one-piece fuel pump and filter improve fuel supply in 2024, letting the tank keep feeding fuel even when the level is low. With 9 litres of fuel available, you can hit the trail or track with confidence.
Switchgear
The entire KTM Enduro series for 2024 now features new, easy-to-use switchgear. On the right handlebar, you will find a new start/stop switch, and on the left, a new optional Map Select switch lets riders choose between Map 1 and Map 2.

Engine
Let’s start with the 49 hp, 43.8 Nm, and 24.6 kg numbers. This new 2024 KTM 300 EXC Dirt Bike comes with a 300cc 2-stroke powerplant that not only offers new options in the E3 Enduro category, but also remains the choice for Enduro riders seeking maximum power and torque thanks to its lower weight. Another reason the KTM 300 EXC engine sets the benchmark in the competitive Enduro E3 and the world’s hard enduro races.

Throttle Body Injection
Forget TPI; the new 2024 KTM 300 EXC Dirt Bike comes with a new electronically controlled Throttle Body Injection (TBI) system. Together with a new Keihin 39mm throttle body, the ECU calculates the ideal air-fuel mixture by continuously analysing water temperature, air temperature, environmental pressure, crankcase pressure, speed, and throttle position to ensure the smoothest, most stable power output in bright enduro conditions.
Power valve
The reed valve case received an important design update for 2024, in conjunction with an electronic exhaust control system. New plastic flaps on the external reed valve case improve sealing across the entire intake tract and prevent excessive refuelling on extreme uphills and downhills, which could result in rich engine settings.
Offroad Control Unit
A brand-new Offroad Control Unit, or OCU, replaces all electronic fuses and relays under the seat. Depending on the voltage regulator and ECU, all outputs switch continuously, and at overcurrent, the outputs deactivate separately. Each output’s status is shown with a red or green LED, making errors easy to spot. This means diagnosing an electrical problem is as easy as lifting the seat. You no longer need to carry fiddly fuses.

Selectable Engine Maps
For easy operation, a newly developed map-selection switch is available as an optional extra on all KTM EXC models and lets you select 2 unique motor cards. Map 1 contains a standard, more linear and predictable power map, and Map 2 is a more aggressive map for additional throttle response and more crunchy, explosive energy.
Battery & Wiring Harness
As for the rest of the 2-stroke EXC 2024 series, the new 2024 KTM 300 EXC Dirt Bike has a proven, reliable electric start system. Powered by an ultralight 2 Ah lithium-ion starter battery, it provides a safe, reliable start time after time again. At the same time, the cable harness keeps most electrical components carefully positioned under the seat for easy access.
Ergonomics
The new 2024 KTM 300 EXC Dirt Bike features a rider-focused body-position triangle, offering improved knee contact – especially when standing on the foot pegs – with enhanced gripping surfaces all around. With plastics that shed mud in wet, muddy conditions, flat seat profiles with a high-grip seat cover for exceptional rider Movement and control, and a polyamide-reinforced aluminium subframe that delivers unmatched driving feel and feedback, your only concern is navigating the terrain ahead of you.
Exhaust
Bringing the Braaap! The new, more compact engine design of the 2024 KTM 300 EXC Dirt Bike lets the head tube be designed to achieve more ground clearance and lower the risk of damage when riding over deep roots, rods, or cliffs. The silencer is made of lightweight aluminium and is stylishly finished in a black coating that emphasises its premium quality.
Frame
The new 2024 KTM 300 EXC Dirt Bike was designed for long-term strength, featuring a brand-new black powder-coated frame that provides exceptional rider feedback, energy absorption, and high-speed stability. This was achieved by repositioning the rotating masses in the frame and mounting a forged steering head connection. New parallel frame mounts also improve flex characteristics, while the footrest mounts also went in and loosened things down. And when the ride ends, a completely redesigned forged one-piece side stand ensures your enduro weapon stands proud.

Subframe
A new ultra-light subframe takes charge on the rear of the main frame, with a 2-part polyamide and reinforced aluminium structure. Computational dynamics were used to tune the subframe’s rigidity for excellent handling and rider feedback. The new subframe is shorter, more compact, and more robust than the previous generation, and can bend and flex in a crash instead of breaking. The subframe fully integrates the electronic components, with no additional brackets, holders, or unnecessary containers.
WP XACT Closed-cartridge Fork
An all-new 48 mm WP XACT Closed Cartridge Spring fork shall be included in the KTM Enduro line for 2024. With prompt, consistent damping, optimised oil flow, and a new hydro stop in the last 68mm of stroke, these forks deliver uncompromising performance at every level. New protection rings on the fork also provide a more effective shield against dirt. Best of all, the new fork offers full compression and rebound adjustment without tools.
WP XACT Shock
It remains a feature of KTM Enduro weaponry; an updated PDS rear shock concept adds a new shock bracket that significantly improves the chassis’s anti-squat behaviour. This is still the most trusted and maintenance-friendly option for competitive enduro racing. An all-new WP XPLOR PDS rear shock now takes charge at the back, weighing 380g less than the previous generation unit. It features a new compact design, new bearing and new main piston to optimise the oil stream and enhance consistent damping. It also offers full adjustability with hand clickers for on-the-fly adjustments.
Wheels and Tires
The new 2024 KTM 300 EXC Dirt Bike rolls on several high-strength GIANT alloy wheels, connected to CNC-cut hubs and aluminium nipples. These are wrapped in an ultra-grippy Maxxis Maxx Enduro tyre set, ensuring exceptional traction in all conditions.
Stability
Thanks to a newly positioned, forged steering head connection and CNC-milled triple clamps, the EXC area 2024 KTM stays rock-solid at every speed. These elements are best set up in the high-grade aluminium-like style, with the steering stem hardness, the ideal Fork Tower layout, and the precise geometry of the fork clips to maintain high-sensitivity, smooth fork force – let alone the unstinting stability of these ultra-fast flat special stages. Newly designed rubber mountings, optimised for topology, help increase grip with less handlebar twist. They come with a solid mounting that offers the perfect amount of Flex for the forged triple terminal setup.
Energy Absorption
In addition to the skillfully crafted, hydroformed, laser-cut, and robot-welded frame, it is designed to deliver exceptional feedback and straight-line stability; several components mean the frame acts as a “shock absorber”, which lowers the ride and reduces rider fatigue over many hard rounds.
A new shock assembly, not connected to the main pipe, significantly improves the chassis’s anti-squat structure. A new Service-friendly one-piece steering head seal, on the other hand, ensures improved reliability. The Closed-Head-Tube design also offers new fuel overflow routing. After all, a new forged one-piece side stand means no more falling feelings during parking.
LED headlight
In the light of further development, the KTM EXC range of 2024 has a brand-new LED headlight unit and a light mask. The mask improves triple-clamp protection against Roost and eliminates the rubber assembly straps for a better fit. Most importantly, the LED illumination unit offers 300% more light, making riding in the dark a completely new experience.
