Testastretta DVT 1262

The core of the XDiavel is a Testastretta DVT 1262 twin-cylinder engine that produces 152 horsepower at 9,500 revolutions per minute and 92.9 pound-feet of torque at 5,000 revolutions per minute.

Torque always available

At 2,100 rpm, the XDiavel offers over 80% of its maximum torque. It allows you to quickly accelerate by just increasing the throttle, rather than needing to change down a gear—the way a cruiser ought to be. Compared to other Ducati twin-cylinder engines, the 5,000 rpm point is when the 92.9 lb-ft of peak torque is produced. At 9,500 rpm, the wheel receives 152 horsepower, which is the maximum allowed.

Ducati Power Launch

Ducati’s Power Launch allows the XDiavel’s true character to shine through. The Bosch IMU gas regulator ensures fast and risk-free starts with this system.

The DPL has three intervention modes, but the most effective is level 1.

To activate the DPL, use the button on the right side of the toggle. Once engaged, a drop-down option appears on the control panel, allowing you to choose the severity of the intervention. Once the difficulty has been set, the rider should engage first gear by depressing the clutch and letting go of the gas pedal entirely. At this juncture, a quick launch may be achieved by progressively releasing the grip.

When the speed reaches 120 km/h, when the third gear is engaged, or when the rate lowers to less than 5 km/h, the system turns off automatically. The system employs an algorithm that permits a certain number of successive starts to preserve the clutch. During regular cycling, the bike’s starts are recalculated one by one.

Ride-by-Wire

Ride-by-Wire is an electronic link between the XDiavel’s engine and fuel throttle that allows for optimal power configuration according to the chosen Riding Mode.

The accelerator cable no longer directly controls the amount of power sent to the engine; instead, it is routed via a control unit that, based on a signal, electronically regulates the throttle’s opening.

The RbW system has three distinct mappings for controlling the power delivery: Sports, Touring, and Urban.

Belt transmission

Belt final drive makes its Ducati debut on the XDiavel. The Ducati Testastretta DVT 1262 provides the XDiavel with the power it needs, and the engineers at Ducati knew they needed a system that could reliably and safely transmit that power.

Forward foot pegs

The XDiavel ergonomics were developed from the ground up around a natural, comfortable cruiser riding posture, complete with a low seat and forward foot pegs. The XDiavel’s foot pegs have a standard adjustment range of +/-22.5 mm (between the middle and extreme positions).

In addition, a Ducati Performance “central footpegs” component will be supplied separately for riders who want a more sporty posture. For bikes with forward footpegs, the XDiavel’s guaranteed maximum lean angle of 40 degrees is unheard of.

Adjustable suspension

The XDiavel’s fully adjustable suspensions make lengthy rides pleasant and provide precise handling at high speeds.

With fully adjustable hydraulic brakes in compression and extension and spring preload (and stems with DLC coating on the S model), the XDiavel’s 50 mm diameter front fork is a welcome addition. The left stem of the fork is home to the compression register and spring preload. The right branch houses the extension register. The XDiavel’s setup, which includes a steering inclination of 30 degrees and a trail of 130 millimeters, provides a nimble and responsive front end, ensuring extraordinary handling and a remarkable steering angle. The XDiavel, the other hand, features a mono-shock with spring preload and extension adjustments and a dedicated fuel tank in the back. The shock absorber is mounted almost horizontally and operates in tandem with progressive kinematics.

Brembo braking system

Brembo brakes with Bosch 9.1ME ABS Cornering are standard on the XDiavel. Bosch’s Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) platform is used by ABS Cornering to maximize stopping power at both the front and rear wheels, even under extreme conditions and while cornering.

Excellent braking performance and maximum rider safety are ensured by the XDiavel’s premium Brembo components, ABS, tailored suspension, and Pirelli Enhanced Patch Technology.

Riders of varying skill levels and road/use circumstances may tailor the system’s intervention to their needs.

All three Riding Modes have default settings for the three ABS profiles (Expert, Sport, and Safe & Stable). However, each profile may be accessed separately through an intuitive menu.

Tires and wheels

The front wheel is a 3.5-inch 17-inch while the rear wheel is an 8-inch 17-inch. Enhanced Patch Technology expands the contact area at any lean angle, and double compound technology increases grip during the most intense cornering on the massive rear tire. Because of the tread pattern and the rubber compounds employed, driving in the rain is a breeze.

Riding Mode

Riding Modes and other cutting-edge Ducati features are included in the XDiavel. Advanced technology including Ride-by-Wire, Ducati Traction Control, and the ABS Cornering Bosch system, is at the heart of the three Riding Modes.

Activating the Riding Mode Urban quickly alters the XDiavel’s personality, changing it into a manageable and secure mode of transportation. To ensure total safety at all times, even on rough terrain and in heavy traffic, the power is decreased to 100 hp, the DTC is set to level 6, and the ABS profile is set to Safe & Stable.

In Touring Riding Mode, the engine provides 152 horsepower, yet the power delivery is smooth and straightforward to manage. To provide optimal rider and passenger comfort on extended trips, the DTC has been adjusted to level 4 and the ABS has been switched to Safe & Stable.

With a deft foot on the pedal, the Riding Mode Sport can unleash its engine’s total 152 horsepower for a thrilling ride. Sport Mode lowers the DTC to level 2 and switches the ABS to Sport Mode so you can enjoy the full power of your XDiavel.

Ducati Traction Control

As a brand new “filter” between the rider’s right hand and the brand-new rear wheel, DTC is a brilliant device. DTC can record and then manage the spinning of the back wheel in milliseconds, improving the bike’s performance and active safety.

The system has eight settings, each calibrated to allow for a variable amount of rear-end sliding, making it appropriate for a wide range of riders. Level one is intended for more experienced riders in ideal riding circumstances and has less contact. At the same time, group eight featured more involvement and was created to instill total confidence in all riders regardless of skill level, even in wet and slick conditions.

Each of the three Riding Modes has its default DTC setting, but the rider may adjust the settings to their liking through an easy-to-use menu.
