Adventure Touring

The Harley-Davidson, Pan America motorbike, is designed for riders who see traveling as detouring, both on and off the road. Wherever the road may lead you, this tough, powerful, technologically sophisticated multi-purpose vehicle is built to be competent, self-assured, and enjoyable. These brand-new adventure-tourer bikes were developed by Harley-Davidson using its robust design and engineering expertise. Each motorbike has high-end features, exceptional performance, and cutting-edge technology.

All-New Revolution Max Powertrain

Here begins the new chapter in a century of storied V-Twins. Revolution® Max is a 150 horsepower, plenty of torque, liquid-cooled motor with a surgery power band optimized to enhance rider control.

Different By Design

The overall design and technical teams at Harley-Davidson Motorcycles have created a concept based on usefulness inspired by enduring American off-road vehicles. Pan America is a challenging take on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle that combines function and design in a way that stays prominent out in a sea of motorcycles that are becoming more similar.

All Terrain Long Hauler

Pan AmericaTM is built to retain a high-speed ride and more excellent handling experience even when loaded to the maximum weight and baggage capacity, thanks to H-touring D’s heritage. No matter how hard you push the Pan AmericaTM, it maintains its poise and assurance. It is a motorbike that is refined, competent, and intuitive.

Dual Purpose Powertrain

By doing away with a conventional frame and becoming a structural part of the motorcycle chassis, the Revolution® Max 1250 considerably lowers total weight and maintains tight handling. Because of the shallow center of gravity and very robust chassis, this performance is tangible.

H-D® Michelin Scorcher

These tires, mounted on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear cast aluminum wheelset, were jointly created to satisfy the needs of both on- and off-road adventure touring. To maximize performance, Michelin examined every element, including the internal design and the tread and profile of the tires outside.

Choose Your Ride Mode

The 5 pre-programmed Ride Modes (Sport, Road, Rain, Off-Road, and Off-Road Plus) can be selected by flicking a switch, or you can design your custom mode by setting your bike’s power delivery, engine braking, Cornering Enhanced Antilock Braking System (C-ABS), and Cornering Enhanced Traction Control System (C-TCS) settings to a particular combination.

2022 Harley-Davidson Pan-America Adventure Motorcycle – Impressive Facts

The 1250cc Revolution Max Motor Is A Superb Power plant

The 2022 Harley-Davidson Pan America comes with an outstanding 1250cc Revolution Max engine, which gives the motorbike excellent on- and off-road performance. Its liquid-cooled 60° V-twin DOHC engine, which generates 150 horsepower and 94 lb-ft of torque, is the most potent Harley-Davidson model ever made.

The engine, in contrast to other Harley bikes, is very smooth and also possesses respectable top-end performance. Since the powertrain has a broad torque band and performs best in the midrange, the Pan America is an excellent choice for highways. There are several riding options available as well. However, the low-end performance falls short of expectations, and the fueling is jerky.

Gearbox Is Surprisingly Smooth

Additionally, the transmission is noticeably better than on the other Harley-Davidson bikes. When changing gears, particularly from neutral to first, there are none of those clumsy sounds. With quick shifts and no false neutrals, the gearbox could quickly move through the gears.

The clutch of this 6-speed manual gearbox is a cable-actuated mechanism, and it also has a slip and assists system. However, since the grip is stiffer, riding in cities might be challenging. Also lacking is a quick-shifter.

Multiple Riding Modes Are Onboard

The 2022 Harley-Davidson Pan America has various riding modes to select from to make the journey more pleasant. The buttons on the handlebar may also be used by the rider to choose the methods. The choices are also shown in the digital instrument cluster.

Five pre-programmed riding modes—Sport, Road, Rain, Off-Road, and Off-Road Plus—each with a unique profile that affects throttle response, suspension damping, and other electronics like ABS, traction control, and many others—are available. The rider’s preferences may also be considered when creating custom riding modes.

Braking Performance Is unlike Most Harleys

The 2022 Harley-Davidson Pan America has reliable braking equipment that can instantly stop the motorbike. Brembo 4-piston monoblack calipers with a 280mm twin disc arrangement are used on the front end. The rear, however, has a 280mm disc and a 1-piston Brembo caliper. ABS is also standard.

You would appreciate the massive bite if you grabbed the front brake lever just a little. The front brakes on this motorbike, which weighs close to 559 lbs., are more than enough to stop it from traveling at highway speeds. Additionally, the braking progression is superb. Although the rear brakes are not as effective as the front ones, the hardware makes it simple to secure the motorbike.

City Riding Is Perfectly Tolerable on the Pan America

The 2022 Harley-Davidson Pan America’s riding quality leaves little room for criticism. Even while it seems somewhat stiffer even in the Road setting, it is by no means unpleasant. Excellent pothole absorption prevents all but the sharpest bumps from being conveyed to the rider.

There are no jerky on-off transitions, as there were with the Ducati Multistate and the BMW GS 1250, since the fueling is flawless. It keeps the rider and the passenger from becoming weary while navigating the busy metropolitan streets. In cities, handling is also pleasant thanks to light steering and simple agility.

Sophisticated Suspension Setup Helps On the Freeways

The front end of the 2022 Harley-Davidson Pan America has an optional adjustable ride height adjustment and a 47mm inverted fork with electronically adjustable semi-active. A piggyback mono-shock with electronically controlled semi-active compression and rebound damping is included for the rear end. Preload adjustments are made automatically as well.

With this suspension set-up and the several riding modes, it can navigate any roadway with the highest comfort and assurance. Due to the stiffer suspension configuration that provides flat ride quality on highways, the ride quality is even better when the ride mode is switched to Sport mode. The Michelin Scorcher tires provide good traction as well.

Not The Best Motorcycle for Off-Road riding

The 2022 Harley-Davidson Pan America performs rather well off-road. The motorbike handles well when standing up, and direction changes happen swiftly. The handlebar is just the right amount of light, and the braking is precise.

The vehicle’s hefty curb weight is one of the factors contributing to its somewhat worse off-road performance. Pan America is not remarkably steady while traveling over the slush and sand. On the off-road segment, the same thing takes place while negotiating a long, sweeping turn. Furthermore, while traveling off-road, the engine becomes relatively warm.

Build Quality Is Impressive

The Harley-Davidson Pan America’s owners had no issues with the vehicle’s construction quality. The 2022 Pan America has superior artistry, panel quality, and switchgear quality, distinguishing it from some of the previous Harley models.

There are no visible screws on the motorbike, and the panel gaps are relatively uniform. Due to the poor insulation and exposed wiring on older Harley-Davidson motorcycles, wiring problems were pretty standard. With the 2022 Pan America, this wouldn’t be the case since the wiring is mainly concealed and in excellent condition. There is no problem with the paint quality either.

Heat Could Be a Deal breaker To Many

Most likely, the only location that would deter many potential purchasers is this one. When ridden at low speeds, the 2022 Harley-Davidson Pan America gives the impression of being inside an oven. The situation worsens due to the rider’s legs being exposed to heat.

The ride is intolerable at lower speeds despite liquid cooling technology and a giant radiator to dissipate the heat. We don’t like how much heat the headers produce. The radiator fan is rather noisy, but as the speeds rise, the heating never becomes an issue.

It comes Loaded with Many Features

The 2022 Pan America stands out from many other Harleys because of its extensive array of cutting-edge features and rider-assistance technology. The Day maker’s distinctive LED headlamp, LED taillight, and LED turn signals are just a few of the electrical innovations that make this adventure tourer much more contemporary.

Harley has included a 6.8″ TFT display for the gauges, which provides all the required data. The display has enough brightness and good viewing angles, and the UI is slick and clean. Bluetooth connection is also available. Additional features include windshield, ABS, traction control, slip-assist clutch, several riding modes, and many more.
