The new 2018 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R ABS SE Heavy Bike is one of the best and very popular motorcycles due to its powerful 1,441cc four-cylinder engine. The new electronics are another impressive feature of the bike while the stunning bodywork makes the bike full of fun and ready to conquer the world.
This Kawasaki Ninja uses the big horsepower in a polished and refined manner for outstandingly smooth power delivery. Thanks to other technologies like ABS braking and traction control, the ZX-14R fits the wide range of experienced riders and riding styles.
2018 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R ABS SE Heavy Bike – Features and Price
The 2018 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R is available with a similar braking system used in Kawasaki Ninja H2. The bike features the radially attached four-piston front brakes calipers. In contrast, the front brakes come with Brembo M50 cast monoblock calipers including four opposed 30mm pistons that clamp the 310mm Brembo disc to ensure excellent braking. The outer edges of the discs come with grooves down to the center of the outer edges that helps in heat dissipation. An all-new Brembo radial-pump master cylinder and reservoir are calibrated for the crankshaft to ensure little lever movement to achieve a more potent front braking force.
The rear braking system features the 32mm pistons that clamp a disc of 250mm. An all-new stainless steel braided brake lines contribute to the direct feel. The smoke-colored brake and clutch master cylinder reservoirs, black anodized reservoirs brackets and some other added accents enhance cockpit appearance.
Special Edition Model
The new 2018 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R ABS SE Heavy Bike features the powerful engine that makes it top in its class. The engine can quickly deliver an ultra-smooth power with sharp acceleration feel in the mid-to-high rpm range. Thanks to the Kawasaki’s Traction Control System KTRC that helps in converting the massive energy into forwarding momentum with minimal wheel slip. The new long-stroke engine contributes to the enormous torque at all rpm and the substantially more power in the mid-high rpm range with strong acceleration. The cylinder had features milled combustion chamber to boost compression for enhanced performance.
An all-new forged piston matches the combustion chamber, which is not only healthy but light as well. The skirt design helps in alleviating stress. The piston cooling jet system continuously sprays the oil underside of the pistons for better cooling and increased performance. Intake ports are hand polished to ensure better flow and increased performance while the large diameter exhaust ports help improve performance. The wide bypass holes between the chrome-composite plated cylinders reduce the pimping loss that contributes to outstanding performance.
Advanced Electronic Riding Aids
The new Ninja ZX-14R comes with the highest level of engine performance, which is intended to version outstanding performance. This engine gives an extraordinary performance with advanced electronic riding aids provided as standard equipment to suit perfect riding condition or preference.
The latest KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control System) is one of the latest and high-tech system in the motorcycle. It is available in three different mode system that combines the best features of Sport-KTRC from the Ninja ZX-10R and new KTRC from the Concours 14 to help to offer maximum traction with some minute degree of slippage for track riding. The mode one and two controls ignition timing like S-KTRC, which uses complex analysis to calculate when to apply traction. The mode 3 has a bit higher sensitivity and it controls ignition timing with fuel and air for smoother operation. The KTRC can be actuated with a handlebar switch that gives the rider the option to turn off the system.
The new power mode allows the rider to set the power characteristics to suit riding conditions and style. The riders can easily choose between the full power operation or low power, which is about 75% of the throttle response. The Ram Air Induction (KP) Central Ram Air duct delivers a straighter path to the airbox for outstanding intake efficiency. The system comes with cooler and high-pressure air from in front of the fairing plus it guides it through the air cleaner and directly into the engine for ultimate power output.
The new 2018 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R ABS SE Heavy Bike comes with a powerful engine featuring the latest digital fuel injection (KP). The new throttle bodies assembly with remote idle speed control (ISC) valve eliminating the need to adjust idle and lower emission during deceleration, allowing smaller catalyzers to be used in the exhaust that helps in better performance. An all-new 44 mm Mikuni throttle bodies are attached with Dual Throttle Valves (KP), which are controlled by the ECU to offer precise response plus it makes DFI performance smoother. The new fuel injector nozzles disperse the finely-atomized fuel over the broader area that helps in boosting power. An all-new 32-bit electronic control unit works with a dual throttle valve system that further enhances throttle response and control.
An all-new exhaust system contains large-diameter tapered header pipes with large muffler volume. The internal construction of the muffler is designed for better exhaust flow. The gearbox consists of 6-speed transmission with heat and surface treatment on all gears for better durability and wears resistance. The final gearing further accentuates the strong acceleration while the back-torque-limiting clutch offers rear-wheel hop plus it helps protect the drivetrain.
The 2018 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R comes with an inverted 43mm Cartridge Type Front Fork (KP) that ensures more excellent stability and maximum strength. The firm damping rates provide stiff initial action to resist front-end dive during braking. The rubber damper helps fight harsh bottoming while the stepless damping adjustment allows the riders to tune suspension performance.
The overall body design is tested approved by using the wind tunnel test. Its front cowl comes with an aggressive appearance feasting unique four-headlight design. The standard single-seat cover and bold tail section are some of the prominent features. The fairing has a more dynamic appearance but improves radiator air flow combined with the heat guard on the exhaust pipe.
The motorcycle comes with a full set of instrumentation containing metal rings around the speedometer and tachometer with the “Flying K” logo in the center. The multi-function button on the left handlebar switch housing so that the rider can quickly scroll through the meter function. The LCD screen background can be set eight white or black according to the rider’s need.
