Fuel Tank

The new transparent polythene (XPE) fuel tank is a signature feature of the KTM Enduro lineup. It lets you quickly monitor your fuel level. Years of development have made it the strongest and most reliable fuel tank. For 2024, a one-piece fuel pump and a filter improve fuel supply and let you drain the tank further at low fuel levels. With 9 litres of fuel available, you can hit the trail or track with maximum confidence.

Switchgear

The entire KTM Enduro range gets a new, easy-to-use switchgear for 2024. To the right of the steering, you will find a new Start/Stop switch. The left-hand side adds features, giving riders Map 1 or Map 2.

Engine

The 250cc 2-stroke engine has long been the best combination of unsurpassed power and lightweight construction. This lightweight 24.8 kg engine delivers more than an earlier 250cc 2-stroke engine without losing its typical 250cc character. In the competitive Enduro E1 class, the new 2024 KTM 250 XC-W dirt motorcycle engine delivers an impressive 40.8 Nm of torque and 47 hp, setting the standard.

Throttle Body Injection

Forget TPI; 2024 KTM 2-stroke Enduro models now use electronically controlled Throttle Body Injection (TBI). The ECU, along with a new Keihin 39mm throttle body, calculates the ideal air-fuel mix by constantly analysing water temperature, air temperature, ambient pressure and pressure in the case of the container, rpm and gas lever position to ensure the smoothest and most consistent power supply in the most gnarly of enduro conditions.

Power valve

Together with electronic exhaust control, the reed valve case received an important design update for 2024. New plastic flaps on the outer reed valve case improve sealing across the intake system and prevent excess refuelling on extreme uphill or downhill sections, which could lead to richenginer settings.

Offroad Control Unit

The new Offroad Control Unit (OCU) system replaces all electronic fuses and relays located under the seat. Depending on the voltage regulator and ECU signals, the system continuously switches all outputs. When current exceeds the limit, the system deactivates each output individually. Each output’s status is shown by a red or green LED, making error detection simple. This means diagnosing a problem is as easy as lifting the seat on the trail, and you no longer need a workshop.

Designed for easy operation, a newly developed map-select switch is available as an optional addition to all KTM XC-W models and lets you easily select 2 unique engine cards. Map 1 is the standard, linear, predictable energy map, while Map 2 is a more aggressive card for sharper throttle response and more gnarly, explosive power.

Battery & Wiring Harness

The 2024 KTM 250 XC-W Dirt Motorcycle features a proven, reliable electric starter system, like the rest of the 2024 2-stroke XC-W range. Powered by an ultra-light 2 Ah lithium-ion starter battery, it delivers a safe, reliable start-up time, again and again. At the same time, the harness keeps most electrical components carefully mounted under the seat for easy access.

Ergonomics

The 2024 KTM 250 XC-W Dirt Motorcycle range features a rider-focused body-position triangle that improves knee contact, especially when standing on the new pegs, with better grip surfaces throughout. Plastics that drive out mud in wet, slurry conditions, plus a flat seat cover with a high-grip cover, deliver exceptional rider movement and control. The polyamide-reinforced aluminium subframe offers an unparalleled driving experience and feedback; your only concern is navigating the terrain in front of you.

Exhaust

Bringing the Braaap! The new, compact engine design of the 2024 KTM 250 XC-W dirt motorcycle lets you design the head tube for greater terrain clearance and reduces the risk of damage from roots, rods, or steep rocks. The silencer is made of lightweight aluminium and stylishly finished in a black coating that accentuates its premium quality.

Frame

The 2024 2-stroke KTM XC-W series was designed for longitudinal rigidity and features a brand-new black powder-coated frame with exceptional rider feedback, energy absorption, and high-speed stability. This is achieved through repositioning the rotating masses into the frame and installing a forged steering head connection. New parallel frame brackets also improve flex characteristics, while footrest mounts also came in and slipped things down. When the ride ends, a completely revamped forged single-sided standard makes your enduro weapon proud.

Subframe

A new ultra-light subframe takes over the rear of the main frame, with a 2-part polyamide and reinforced aluminium structure. Engineers used computational dynamics to design its rigidity, delivering excellent handling and rider feedback. The new subframe is shorter, more compact, and more robust than the previous generation, designed to bend and flex in a crash rather than break. The subframe fully integrates the electronic components without extra fixtures, brackets, or unnecessary hardware.

WP XACT Closed-cartridge Fork

An all-new 48 mm WP XACT Closed Cartridge suspension fork joins the KTM Enduro line-up for 2024. With fast, consistent damping, optimised oil flow, and new hydro stops at 68 mm of stroke, the fork delivers incomparable performance at any level. New fork guard rings offer better protection against dirt ingress. Best of all, the new fork lets you fully adjust compression and rebound without tools.

WP XACT Shock

This remains a feature of KTM Enduro weaponry: an up-to-date PDS rear shock concept with a new shock mount that greatly enhances the chassis’s anti-squat behaviour. This remains the most trustworthy and maintenance-friendly option for competitive enduro racing. The all-new WP XPLOR PDS rear shock now takes control at the rear, weighing 380 g less than the previous generation. It features a new compact design, new bearings, and new primary pistons to optimise oil flow and deliver more consistent damping, plus full adjustability thanks to easy-to-use hand clickers for fly management.

Wheels and Tires

The 2024 KTM 250 XC-W Dirt Motorcycle rolls on a high-strength GIANT alloy wheel kit with CNC-milled hubs and aluminium nipples. These are wrapped in a Dunlop MX33 front and a Dunlop AT 81 rear, offering extraordinary traction in all conditions.

Stability

The 2024 KTM 250 XC-W Dirt Motorcycle stays rock solid at every speed thanks to a repositioned, forged steering head connection and CNC three-fold clips. Made from high-grade aluminium, these elements are optimally positioned for the helmsman’s stem hardness and the perfect fork-tube location. The precise geometry of the fork clamps ensures high sensitivity, smooth fork action, and stability for these ultra-fast flat special stages. Newly designed, topology-optimised rubber-mounted bar mounts provide more grip for less handlebar twist. They feature a fixed mount, providing the right amount of flex for the forged triple clamp setup.

Energy Absorption

Beyond the expertly manufactured hydro-formed, laser-cut, and robot-welded frame designed for exceptional driver feedback and straight-line stability, the frame also acts as a “shock absorber” for less-than-ideal driving, reducing driver fatigue over many hard laps. A new shock assembly, no longer attached to the main tube, considerably strengthens the chassis’s anti-squat. A new, service-friendly one-piece steering head seal, however, improves reliability. The closed head tube design also offers new routing for fuel overflow. Lastly, a new forged one-piece side stand means no sinking feelings at the parking stop.

LED headlight

Illuminating the way forward, the 2024 KTM 250 XC-W dirt motorcycle features a completely new LED headlight unit and light mask. The mask itself features improved triple clamp protection against roost, removing rubber straps for a better fit. Above all, the LED Lighting Unit offers 300% more illumination, making night riding an entirely new experience.
