Accessories to suit all your needs

The wide range of Moto Guzzi accessories offers all the riding essentials, including heated seats with various ergonomic options, a 52-litre top case for extended riding trips, and side bags fully integrated into the bike’s design.

Unmistakable Design and Advanced Aerodynamics

The new 2024 Moto Guzzi Stelvio Adventure Touring Bike is the only bike in its displacement class with a truly innovative development Cardan shaft drive and the only one with an electrically height-adjustable windshield. More importantly, it is the only one to boast this engine architecture. While there are various captivating twin-cylinder engines, only one boasts a 90-degree transverse V-twin configuration, and that’s the hallmark of Moto Guzzi.

It has an utterly distinct, unparalleled character in how it delivers torque. The V-twin is not only the beating heart of the Moto Guzzi Stelvio, but also the epicentre of its design, as it is on every other Moto Guzzi bike. The overall design begins with the elevated, sculpted engine, where the cylinders appear to burst out of the tank and flow in a dynamic style. The geometric segmentation of the primary bodywork components, centred between the tank and seat, magnifies the elegance of its lines while maintaining a strong focus on intricate details.

Materials, colours, and finishes align with future style trends while emphasising the bike’s Italian essence through its forms and intricate details. The slender tail and larger front shapes highlight a sense of dynamism, balancing design with the protection and comfort needed in a travel- and touring-oriented bike.

Aerodynamics have undergone an extensive overhaul, led by a dedicated team of engineers focused exclusively on this aspect. The primary objective was to optimise air protection, comfort, and overall riding pleasure, aligning with Moto Guzzi’s legacy as the first pioneering motorcycle brand to have its own wind tunnel. It took about 1,500 hours of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations and countless wind-tunnel sessions to identify the ideal surfaces that would offer greater protection for the rider and passenger while taking up the least space. The windshield was designed to deflect airflow while avoiding rear air vortices, aided by two side deflectors.

2024 Moto Guzzi Stelvio Adventure Touring Bike

To accommodate different heights, it is electrically adjustable up to 150km/h, with a range of up to 70mm. The new 2024 Moto Guzzi Stelvio Adventure Touring Bike also evokes iconic models from its rich heritage, drawing inspiration from elements like the louvres on the under-seat sides, while embracing modernity and innovation in its redesigned form. It is the perfect motorcycle for those who enjoy noticing details as they run their hands along its surfaces, capable of evoking thrills long before the journey begins.

Thanks to its attractive styling and LED lighting system, with DRLs that stress the outline and unique architecture, the new 2024 Moto Guzzi Stelvio Adventure Touring Bike remains the centre of attention. Meticulous attention to detail extends to this aspect: the brand-new radiator’s discreet placement and the concealment of new rubber connection hoses from view, alongside the thorough improvement of the electrical system, where the wiring remains entirely hidden, all contribute to enhanced mechanical purity.

Revolutionary Twin-Cylinder ‘Compact Block’ Engine Further Refined

The engine unit powers the new 2024 Moto Guzzi Stelvio Adventure Touring Bike recently launched on the V100 Mandello. However, it distinguishes itself in several ways, enhancing the overall riding experience. It’s no surprise that two motorcycles with such different backgrounds share a common engine. The 2024 Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello and 2024 Moto Guzzi Stelvio Adventure Touring Bike projects began in parallel but followed quite different development paths.

The Moto Guzzi engine designer received a clear directive from the start: craft an engine suitable for a variety of bike types. For instance, the decision to separate the oil sump from the crankcase with a reed valve has resulted in minimal expansion of the lower portion of the engine. This design improves the ground clearance needed to overcome off-road challenges.

Moto Guzzi’s ‘compact block’ is a state-of-the-art engine in terms of design and construction; compact and lightweight, it affords an agile chassis filled with a spirited character. This potent, responsive engine is well equipped to accompany Moto Guzzi over the coming decades, meeting the needs of modern riders who want torque with every twist of the throttle, while balancing fuel efficiency and reasonable running costs.

2024 Moto Guzzi Stelvio Adventure Touring Bike

The engine features a 90-degree transverse V-twin with liquid cooling, dual overhead camshaft timing with finger rockers, and 4 valves per cylinder. The effective displacement is 1042cc, with a 96mm bore and a 72mm stroke. As mentioned, the crankcase fully benefits from wet sump lubrication, with the crank chamber separated from the oil sump by a reed valve pack. This system allows a lower engine due to a shallower oil pan, saving space and reducing volume, which benefits handling and – in the case of the Moto Guzzi Stelvio – offers ample ground clearance to avoid off-road obstacles. It also reduces lubricant in the crankcase, lowering friction and fuel consumption and helping with size containment.

Overall, engineers have worked hard to reduce inertia as much as possible (up to 50 per cent less than the previous 1200 8V engine), reducing weight and improving responsiveness. A counter-rotating shaft is combined, designed not only to balance the primary forces but also to be inherently balanced by the 90-degree architecture.

Instead, it reduces reverse torque, enhancing rideability and removing undesirable reactions during both acceleration and deceleration. This feature also reduced the crankshaft’s overall weight and dimensions, improving compactness and overall performance. The outer crankcases were designed to support the frame structurally, with eight attachment points. The rider foot-pegs are securely attached to the crankcases with a few rubber pads, taking advantage of the engine’s superb balance to reduce vibration effectively.

The ground-up design has yielded an extremely compact power unit, measuring 103mm shorter than the smaller block of the Moto Guzzi V85 TT, and weighing less than the Moto Guzzi 1200 8V, the last four-valve engine manufactured by Moto Guzzi. A significant contribution comes from the new hydraulically controlled wet multi-plate clutch with a slipper system. This system is not only robust and dependable but also compact and lighter compared to the dry single-plate solution used in other models currently in production.

The alternator has been completely repositioned for better efficiency, no longer residing at the front but now nestled within the V of the cylinders. Another unique feature from recent engines developed in Mandello del Lario is the 90-degree rotation of the cylinder heads. This decision not only creates more legroom but also streamlines the intake line and electronic injection components. Indeed, the two throttle bodies come with shorter, straighter high-turbulence ducts, which improve delivery of the air/fuel mixture to the combustion chambers. This results in clear advantages like increased power, improved fuel efficiency, smoother delivery, and reduced emissions of harmful pollutants.

2024 Moto Guzzi Stelvio Adventure Touring Bike

The decision to use (DOHC) double overhead camshaft timing with finger rocker arms enabled more aggressive valve lift profiles, improving performance. At the same time, this design improves combustion efficiency by reducing fuel waste. The ride-by-wire electronic control system also contributes by ensuring accurate throttle control without abrupt on-off response during throttle operation. The cylinder head rotation simplified exhaust design, creating two smoothly curving headers that merge into a dual-exit tailpipe. The headers also feature protective shields designed to redirect hot air away from the rider’s legs.

The brand-new six-speed gearbox has been redesigned for smoother, seamless gear shifts. This was nearly impossible, but we achieved it by relocating the cotter from the gearbox’s primary shaft to the clutch, increasing its damping capacity and overall operation. With the same objective, we altered the new cam gear shift to include optimised swingarm pilot cams. Furthermore, the overall performance of the quick shift (available as an accessory) has been enhanced, thanks to new electronic operating strategies.

The powerful engine undoubtedly delivers a sporty level of performance: maximum power is 115hp at 8,700 rpm while maximum torque is 105Nm at 6,750 rpm, with 82% available as early as 3,500rpm and the limiter set at an impressive 9,500rpm. These statistics aptly illustrate the engine’s character and robustness, giving substantial low-end torque for a riding experience that truly symbolises the Moto Guzzi legacy. However, the modern, highly attractive design also delivers low fuel consumption (5.1 l/100 km) and favourable running costs, with a service interval scheduled every 12,000 km.

Stelvio Complies with the Euro 5+ Emissions Standard

The final drive shaft uses an aluminium single-sided arm mounted on the left side. Compared to the one on the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello, it has been reinforced for off-road riding. The drive shaft’s low output and the swingarm’s long longitudinal extension effectively eliminate the initial upward effect when you open the throttle, removing the need for reaction rods on the swingarm. It results in a flawlessly smooth riding experience during acceleration and deceleration, akin to a chain drive, while still appreciating all the benefits of a cardan drive, including reduced maintenance and easier cleaning.

One unique aspect of this system is a single universal joint at the swingarm fulcrum, tilted at a 6-degree angle. This design choice not only preserves a slender central profile for the adventure bike, reducing weight and improving ergonomics, but also features a brand-new bevel gear set at an 84-degree angle (compared with the 90-degree angle found on other Moto Guzzi models). This arrangement lets the swingarm accommodate a 170/60 tyre on a 4.5-inch tubeless spoke rim, underscoring the Moto Guzzi Stelvio’s adventurous spirit.

Peak Riding Pleasure

It’s designed to excel in all riding scenarios, delivering comfort and unwavering performance for adventure touring, everyday convenience, and an exciting experience for those who want sporty road riding. This is what they call adaptability, and the Moto Guzzi Stelvio exemplifies the art of blending multiple flavours into a single motorcycle. The common thread is the joy of riding and the comfort of the front wheel, which can deliver an unparalleled experience. This stems from a design philosophy rooted in the craftsmanship of Mandello’s master fabricators, renowned worldwide.

The credit for such a charming and satisfying ride goes to the ideal weight distribution and reduced mass, enabled by the engine architecture and the 21-litre fuel tank beneath it. But it also comes down to the new 2024 Moto Guzzi Stelvio Adventure’s special layout, which uses the engine as a load-bearing element.

Compared with the unit that powers the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello, the front end has been completely redesigned, making it stronger and better suited to adventure riding. It also now has different dimensions. The frame also features four front anchor points instead of the two on the V100 Mandello, offering a 20% increase in rigidity. The 1520 mm wheelbase and 25.6-degree steering head angle give agility and sporty flair on curve-filled roads.

The ample comfort of the kindly sized seat, mounted at just 830mm above the ground, and the active riding position that keeps the back upright and the legs slightly bent, deliver the ultimate touring attitude. Its narrow central section makes it easy to manage from a standstill and gives solid balance when both feet are on the ground. In keeping with Moto Guzzi’s longstanding tradition of on- and off-road bikes, the new 2024 Moto Guzzi Stelvio Adventure Touring Bike also features wide, adjustable-section aluminium handlebars, perfect for off-road control while also offering a more relaxed touring posture.

The passenger is an integral part of the design and can count on a wide, well-padded seat, large grab bars, and a carriage that allows comfortable movement. The luggage retention system is highly creative (available with a rich catalogue of specialised accessories). It needs no additional supports, keeping the motorcycle uncluttered when not in use, saving weight and reducing lateral bulk. Fixing them is a breeze – raise the passenger seat and insert the case hooks into the designated slots.

2024 Moto Guzzi Stelvio Adventure Touring Bike

The overall suspension system is tailored for the Moto Guzzi Stelvio, offering control and enjoyment in sporty riding, plus the comfort needed for long journeys and dependable grip on rough terrain, thanks to its ample 170mm travel. The new Sachs fork, with 46mm stanchions, is adjustable for rebound hydraulics and spring preload. In contrast, the new KYB shock absorber enables adjustments for rebound hydraulics and new spring preload via suitable manual controls. Its sloping configuration is precisely designed and fine-tuned to deliver a progressive response and sensitivity when cushioning bumps in the road.

The new Brembo braking system incorporates a pair of 320mm floating steel discs at the front, engaged by radial-mount monobloc callipers. The new handlebar master cylinder, along with the clutch master cylinder, is also radial, and both come with adjustable levers for distance to the handlebar. The rear brake features an all-new 280mm disc and a dual-piston calliper. The new tubeless spoked wheels, with 19 inches on the front and 17 inches on the rear, accommodate tyres with a structure and attractive tread pattern suitable for light off-road riding.

First with Radar Sensors for Safer Riding

The new 2024 Moto Guzzi Stelvio Adventure Touring Bike is the first Moto Guzzi to feature the PFF Rider Assistance Solution, presented as a factory option (the motorcycle can be ordered with or without).

This cutting-edge riding-assistance platform is built on 4D Imaging Radar technology and was developed by Piaggio Fast Forward, a robotics expert based in Boston and founded in 2015 by the Piaggio Group.

This is the first time such radar sensors (one positioned above the front headlight assembly and one just below the rear headlight assembly) have been used on a motorcycle, which has unique dynamics compared to a car, with significant lean-angle variation when cornering. The advantages of this advanced sensor include an extremely wide field of vision and highly reliable monitoring regardless of lighting and environmental conditions.

These devices play a key role in active safety, offering Following Cruise Control (FCC), Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), and Lane Change Assist (LCA) functions. FCC is an advanced cruise control system that uses the front radar to adjust speed based on the vehicle in front. It automatically intervenes in engine brake control, improving it if the vehicle in front slows down.

The Forward Collision Warning (FCW) uses the front radar to detect likely collisions with vehicles and objects in front of the motorcycle. The Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) notifies the rider of vehicles in the blind spots detected by the rearview mirrors. Similarly, the Lane Change Assist (LCA) function continuously scans the area up to 30m behind, also identifying vehicles approaching from the side that could pose a lane-changing hazard. In all instances, the rider is alerted through appropriate audible and visual warnings displayed on the instrumentation and rearview mirrors.

The system is part of the latest electronics package, which includes a Ride-by-Wire electronic throttle for ultimate performance and fuel economy management, the advanced Marelli 11MP control unit, and the new 6-axis inertial platform. The latter, equipped with accelerometers and gyroscopes, can discern the motorcycle’s orientation relative to the road. It records and analyses ride inputs and transmits the data to the control unit, which then adjusts control parameters as needed.

The new six-axis platform enables the full potential of Cornering ABS, developed in collaboration with Continental, to be exploited to guarantee the highest possible safety on the road. This system can improve braking and ABS intervention while cornering, supported by a dedicated algorithm that continually monitors various parameters, including lateral acceleration, front brake lever pressure, pitching, lean angle, and yawing. It dynamically adjusts the brake action to guarantee an optimal balance between deceleration and stability.

Five unique Riding Modes are available: Tourism, Street, Rain, Sport, and Off-Road. Each mode includes three engine maps, four levels of traction control, three levels of engine braking, and two levels of ABS control. Moto Guzzi’s technology is designed not only to improve safety and riding enjoyment but also to simplify life on the asphalt. The rider chooses the Riding Mode that best suits their riding preferences, and the system automatically adjusts the electronic parameters. Riders can also modify these settings to fine-tune them to their individual preferences.

The standard equipment includes an all-new full LED lighting system with Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), the new ‘bending lights’ system (which adds extra headlamps in the windshields to illuminate the inside of corners, thus improving visibility when leaning), and an all-new USB port mounted beside the instrumentation. The latter is a 5-inch colour TFT panel that displays information such as fuel level, air and coolant temperature, remaining range, gear engaged indicator, and instantaneous consumption.

Additional accessories include Moto Guzzi MIA, the brand-new multimedia platform allowing smartphone connectivity with the instrumentation via Bluetooth. Moto Guzzi MIA incorporates an infotainment system for managing phone calls, voice assistant and music using built-in handlebar controls, as well as a navigation feature. With this feature, after setting the destination on the smartphone, one can display directions directly on the instrumentation.
