The in-line four-cylinder engine DOHC relies on the unique Suzuki variable valve timing (VVT) system and efficient 4-2-1 exhaust device (with an improved silencer and heat). Advanced Electronic Functions
The fast 32-bit dual-processor Engine Control Module (ECM) combines Suzuki’s extensive EFI knowledge with the intelligence of Suzuki’s award-winning MotoGP program. Using MotoGP’s knowledge, Suzuki installed an inertial measurement unit (IMU) on the GSX-R1000F. IMU provides six-direction, three-axis, motion, and position information to ECM.

The three modes of the Suzuki driving mode selector (S-DMS) allow the rider to select the power output level of the engine to match the riding ability and conditions. The unique 10-mode motion trajectory traction control system (MT-TCS) affected by the IMU can increase the rider’s confidence by adjusting the intervention to adapt to the riding ability and ground conditions.
