The Multistrada 1200 Enduro Pro 2018 Ducati Motorcycle comes with a powerful Ducati Testastretta DVT engine that uses the Desmodromic valve actuation system. This unique system closes the intake and exhaust valve mechanically and with the same accuracy in which they were opened. The design of the Testastretta DVT engine features the Desmodromic valve actuation that offers a clear advantage over traditional valve springs. It makes it possible to maintain the individual valve timing adjusters compact that minimizes their weights and allowing them to be smoothly integrated.
It is an 1198 ccm engine that contains a bore of 106 mm and a stroke of 67.9 mm that delivers 152 hp at 9500 rpm and 128 Nm of torque at 7500 rpm. Even on 3500 rpm the torque available is 100 Nm and remains near-constant, exceeding 110 Nm between 5000 rpm and 10000 rpm. The Multistrada 1200 Enduro Pro is available with a six-speed gearbox that offers superb gear shifting experience. The layout of the new exhaust system is based on two primary manifolds that merge directly in its single 2-chamber silencer., the latter in addition to acting as a 2-1-2 collector features the catalytic converter. The two pipes exit this section and are directed towards the light and compact silencer, which is attached in the high-position, featuring aluminum alloy outer sleeves.
The Ducati Testastretta DVT engine is equipped with two sparks and their ignition is managed independently. One of positioned at the center of the combustion chamber while the other one is located on the outer side. They help in achieve more speed and effective twin flame-front that guarantees a complete and efficient burning of the fuel-air mixture. On the low engine speeds the two plugs work simultaneously, while at the higher engine speeds the plugs are managed independently with effective ignition timing.
The Desmodromic Variable Timing (DVT) contains hydraulically operation camshaft-phasers that manipulate the camshaft position relative to the sprocket connected to the timing belt. They are present on both; intake and exhaust camshaft. The camshaft-phasers are a newly designed two-piece mechanism comprised of outer gear attached to the timing belt. In contrast, the inner rotor is connected to the camshaft that changes the valve timing just manipulating the rotation angle of the camshaft. The engine needs an extended maintenance interval of 15,000 km or 18,000 miles or one year. It is achieved by using the latest equipment, efficient combustion system and newly designed ignition system. So, don’t worry about the bike it will perform perfectly well.
The 2018 Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro Pro contains the best and lightweight chassis that is exceptionally stylish and worth watching. The motorcycle includes the Sand color scheme that consists of a protective sticker with the Enduro logo on the side of the fuel tank. The front section 120/70 R19 and the rear section has 170/60 R17 tire. These tires provide excellent riding experience on a variety of surfaces. The new tubeless spoked wheels including aluminum rims with 40 cross-mounted spokes and gravity cast hubs have been used in it.
The Multistrada 1200 Enduro Pro contains the Ducati Performance by Touratech side protection crash bars, which are complete with LED lights. It has a low windscreen, which is considered ideal for riding while standing on pegs and a street-legal Ducati Performance by Termignoni slip-on silencer. The motorcycle features the DSS (Ducati Skyhook Suspension) Evolution system, which is based on 48 mm fork and Sachs rear shock. The new electronic suspension allows having a continuous rebound and compression damping adjustment with semi-active control giving better vehicle balance. It ensures to reduce the overall body oscillation and reduces the vibration transferred to the rider thus increases the total comfort and safety. An all-new DTC (Ducati Traction Control) ensures that the power is smoothly transferred to the rear wheel. The ABS comes as standard to ensure a safe ride.
The Multistrada 1200 Enduro Pro 2018 Ducati Motorcycle gives an excellent riding position to ensure perfect optimum off-road handling. The lever design is inspired from the off-road world to ensure that it can easily withstand all the obstacles. The rear brake lever is height-adjusted while the lever contains a unique coupling to prevent breakage. An all-new double-swingarm is made up of shell-cast aluminum, which is a perfect combination of brushed while the rough-finished part gives an eye-catching appeal. The swingarm is specially designed that combines with limited weight for outstanding stability to absorb the punishment meted out by the off-road riding.
The Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro Pro contains the state-of-the-art trellis frame. The key chassis parameters are wheelbase, swingarm length and steering geometry. It comes with a solid frontal Trellis frame including the large-diameter, low-thickness tubing while the two lateral sub-frames are closed off the rear load-bearing and technopolymer.
