2024 Ducati Diavel V4 Naked Motorcycle Review Specs Price

The 2024 Ducati Diavel V4 Naked Motorcycle is sporty, muscular, exaggerated and elegant all at once, drawing attention in any environment. It blends the worlds of sport nakeds and muscle cruisers into a single machine, combining aggressive performance with unmistakable style. The V4 Granturismo engine delivers exhilarating power, enabling the Diavel V4 to display surprising agility and dynamic prowess for a motorcycle of its size.

With Ducati’s sophisticated 1,158cc V4 Granturismo engine producing 168hp and 12.8 kg · m of torque, the Diavel’s performance becomes even more impressive. This powerplant offers smooth, linear delivery at lower revs and strong torque throughout the range, making it ideal for a muscle cruiser that must balance everyday usability with dramatic acceleration. The motorcycle appeals to a broad range of riders: sport enthusiasts seeking comfort and presence, urban riders seeking a stylish, relaxed experience, and fans of performance and drag-inspired character.

2024 Ducati Diavel V4 Naked Motorcycle

The 2024 Ducati Diavel V4 Naked Motorcycle stands out with dynamic, thrilling behaviour, delivering satisfying sport riding, dramatic acceleration and deceleration, and confident low-speed cruising. Its presence is impossible to ignore, and it also shines on mid-range touring thanks to remarkable comfort for both rider and passenger.

2024 Ducati Diavel V4 Naked Motorcycle – Features and Specs

V4 Granturismo engine

The 2024 Ducati Diavel V4 Naked Motorcycle becomes the second Ducati model, after the Multistrada V4, to adopt the 1,158cc V4 Granturismo engine. With bore and stroke measuring 83 x 53.5mm, this unit produces 168 hp (123.6 kW) at 10,750 rpm and 126 Nm (12.8 kgm) at 7,500 rpm. Its linear torque curve provides smooth response across all revs, while its impressively low engine weight of 66.7 kg makes it a benchmark for power-to-mass ratio in its category.

Advanced engineering solutions enhance performance and character. A counter-rotating crankshaft, derived from MotoGP experience, counters wheel gyroscopic inertia, improving agility. Dedicated torque curves for each gear offer smooth low-rpm delivery, strong mid-range pull and full power at the top end. The Twin Pulse firing order, created with 70-degree staggered crank pins, delivers a strong response at all revs and a rich, unmistakable V4 soundtrack, further refined through detailed acoustic development. Fuel delivery is managed by four throttle bodies, each fed by a single elliptical injector with a 46mm equivalent diameter.

Efficiency and comfort were equally important in the engine’s development. The extended rear-bank deactivation system shuts off the rear cylinders during idle and at low-rpm cruising to reduce heat and fuel consumption. When speed increases or torque demand rises, the rear cylinders reactivate seamlessly. This system operates in all Riding Modes.

Long-interval maintenance is another strong point. Oil changes are required after 15,000 km, while valve clearance checks are extended to an exceptional 60,000 km, a rarity for an engine of this performance level.

Chassis

The V4 Granturismo serves as a structural element of the chassis, contributing significantly to weight reduction. In running order without fuel, the Diavel V4 weighs 223 kg, saving 13 kg over the Diavel 1260—5 kg from the engine and 8 kg from the chassis and components.

The frame is a lightweight aluminium monocoque attached directly to the cylinder heads, while the single-sided swingarm is also aluminium. A steel trellis subframe completes the structure. The wheelbase measures 1,593mm, four millimetres shorter than the previous model, with a 26-degree steering head angle and 112mm of trail. A 20-litre steel fuel tank adds both range and structural presence.

Suspension

The new 2024 Ducati Diavel V4 Naked Motorcycle features fully adjustable suspension, with 50mm upside-down forks with compression and preload adjustment on the left leg and rebound adjustment on the right. A rear shock with a separate piggyback reservoir completes the setup. Wheel travel is 120mm at the front end and 145mm at the rear end —15mm more than the Ducati Diavel 1260—enhancing comfort for both rider and passenger.

Brakes

Braking performance is handled by dual Brembo Stylema radial monobloc callipers acting on 330mm floating front discs, controlled by a PR16/19 radial master cylinder with integrated aluminium reservoir. At the rear, a two-piston Brembo calliper works on a 265mm disc, ensuring strong and controllable stopping power.

Tyres and rims

The 2024 Ducati Diavel V4 Naked Motorcycle features distinctive five-spoke wheels with machined surfaces. The front runs a 3.5 x 17-inch rim with a 120/70 ZR17 Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyre, while the rear mounts an 8.0 x 17-inch rim wrapped in a massive 240/45 ZR17 tyre, delivering both grip and signature Diavel stance.

Ergonomics

The 2024 Ducati Diavel V4 Naked Motorcycle offers a sporty yet comfortable riding position with a 790mm seat height. The redesigned seat provides greater longitudinal room, more support during hard acceleration and improved freedom of movement when leaning. The wide, raised handlebars sit 20mm closer to the rider for better comfort and control. The well-padded passenger seat remains generous, and a standard seat cowl can convert the bike into a single-seater. Passenger footpegs fold away neatly under the tail, and the retractable rear grab handle uses a telescopic mechanism.

Electronic equipment

A comprehensive 6-axis IMU governs the 2024 Ducati Diavel V4 Naked Motorcycle’s advanced electronic systems, monitoring roll, pitch and yaw in real time. The equipment includes ABS Cornering EVO, Ducati Traction Control EVO 2, Ducati Wheelie Control EVO, Ducati Power Launch, Ducati Quick Shift up/down EVO 2 and cruise control. Each Riding Mode integrates specific settings for these systems, but riders can customise parameters or restore Ducati’s default configurations.

Power Modes & Riding Modes

Each Riding Mode is linked to one of three Power Modes: High, Medium or Low. High and Medium deliver the full 168 hp at 10,750 rpm and 125.7 Nm at 7,500 rpm, but with different throttle map behaviour. High, assigned to Sport Mode, offers the most direct response, while Medium, linked to Touring Mode, provides smoother delivery. Low Power Mode, used for Urban and Wet Modes, limits output to 115 hp at 8,750 rpm and 114.4 Nm at 5,750 rpm for improved control on low-grip surfaces.

Hands-Free ignition

A Hands-Free key system allows the 2024 Ducati Diavel V4 Naked Motorcycle to be started without inserting a physical key. When the electronic fob is within approximately 1.5 metres, the bike recognises it, allowing ignition and engine start through the key-on button. The system also incorporates an electrically actuated steering lock.

Dashboard

The 2024 Ducati Diavel V4 Naked Motorcycle uses a full-TFT 5-inch high-resolution colour display also seen on the Panigale V4. A large circular rev counter sits on the right, displaying gear position and selected Riding Mode. The left side shows fuel level, menus, speed, cruise control status, and trip data, while the upper and lower sections display time, temperature readings, and connectivity indicators for heated grips, DRL functions, the Ducati Link App, and Bluetooth multimedia pairing.

When equipped with the Turn-by-Turn navigation system, the display splits to display both standard riding information and navigation instructions from the Ducati Link App.
