Agility meets exclusivity
The 2024 BMW S 1000 XR Adventure Motorcycle is available with M Carbon wheels for the first time. These are included in the M package or can be chosen as an individual option. The wheels reduce rotating mass, making the bike easier to handle. They are also approved for two riders with luggage and stand out visually with their rim graphics.
The updated in-line 4-cylinder engine delivers stronger performance thanks to redesigned intake channels, giving a maximum power output of 125 kW (170 hp).
This motorcycle still shares its in-line 4-cylinder engine with the S 1000 RR. It provides smooth torque, strong acceleration, and a balanced power curve, making the bike easy to ride. Compared to the 2023 BMW S 1000 XR, the power has increased by 4 kW (5 hp), reaching 125 kW (170 hp) at 11,000 rpm. This improvement is due to optimized intake channels and custom engine mapping. The engine still produces a maximum torque of 114 Nm at 9,250 rpm.
Improved ergonomics thanks to the new seat and even sportier rear section.
The seat has been fully redesigned to give riders more freedom of movement, especially on winding country roads and race tracks. It now has a height of 850 mm, which is 10 mm higher than before, and it also offers more space with increased length and width. It makes it easier to adjust riding positions and improves handling. Three different seat heights are available.
The design has also been updated. The rear now has new side panels and air intakes inspired by racing, giving it a more dynamic look. The radiator trim features a textured surface, and the beak fender, previously black, is now painted in the body colour.

The new 2024 BMW S 1000 XR Adventure Motorcycle includes a larger range of standard equipment. Headlight Pro, with adaptive cornering light, improves safety at night by providing better visibility in turns. Daytime Running Lights make the motorcycle more noticeable during the day. Keyless Ride and a stronger 12 Ah battery are also standard. A USB charging port is included, too.
Other updates include the E-Call emergency feature in the USA, the option to add the M GPS Laptrigger, and the availability of BMW M Carbon wheels either as an option or as official BMW Motorrad accessories.
More power for more mileage
With its improvements, the new 2024 BMW S 1000 XR Adventure Motorcycle produces 5 hp more than before, reaching 170 hp. The four-cylinder in-line engine remains a powerful choice for sporty long-distance riding. The Shift Assistant Pro software has been upgraded, allowing smoother gear changes with improved load change damping.

TFT with Connectivity
The 6.5-inch TFT display replaces the traditional instrument panel. BMW Motorrad Connectivity links the motorcycle, helmet, and smartphone through Bluetooth. This feature allows riders to use navigation, listen to songs or make phone calls while riding.
