2023 MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Series Oro Sports Bike Review

A legend based on racing victories and an incredibly singular past allure. Superior design that has revolutionized the look of modern motorcycles. These days, the new 2023 MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Series Oro Sports Bike combines them all—a hand-assembled, numbered limited edition with a comprehensive racing kit and certificate of authenticity. The wildly successful Superveloce 800, the forerunner of the MV Agusta neo-retro lines, stands alongside the Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro.

Brian Gillen, R&D Director, shed light on the supersport category by saying they established the neo-retro supersport category with the Superveloce 800. They have expanded the range and developed a neo-retro hypersport bike.

Although we have taken inspiration from our past, he added. As a leader in technology, the 2023 MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Series Oro is more than just a throwback. The technology has been applied throughout the manufacturing process, from design and development tools. The following technological aspects are used from start to finish: virtualization, 3D modeling, computer fluid dynamics, and 3D scanning.

The 2023 MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Series Oro is built on the same architecture as the Brutale 1000 RR, sharing its frame, single-sided swingarm, and naturally aspirated four-cylinder inline engine. The bike takes great pride in being inspired by the legendary MV Agusta that competed in the World Championship, particularly the MV 500 model that introduced the first aerodynamic wing to Grand Prix racing fifty years ago in 1972. It is at the forefront of the bike industry when using aerodynamic components in the front.

An almost futuristic design develops and reinforces this technical and artistic decision. The 2023 MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Series Oro Sports Bike is a conceptual descendant of the racing bikes of the 1960s and 1970s, with elements of nostalgia that emphasize the Italian brand’s history of technological innovation.

2023 MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Series Oro Sports Bike – Features and Specs

Engine and Electronics

The power and torque figures are impressive, with 208 horsepower at 13000 rpm (212 horsepower with race kit) and 116.5 Nm at 11000 rpm. The Brutale 1000 RR‘s 998 cc inline four-cylinder engine has received a recent modification, i.e., a counters, haft that rotates twice as fast as the main drive shaft.

The goal is to eliminate high-frequency vibrations to facilitate quicker and easier cornering. This innovative solution reduces vibrations by 54% at 14,000 rpm and has an insignificant impact on handling and response. It also gets more potent at higher revs.

MV Agusta has created a package for the 2023 MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Series Oro Sports Bike that includes every aspect of the feature-rich standard electronics setup, starting with the mapping of the E.C.U. The control unit is defined according to the unique characteristics of the model.

Similar to the changes made to the A.B.S. cornering Continental MK100 system with R.L.M. (Real Wheel Lift-up Mitigation), the 2023 MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Series Oro Sports Bike features a custom MV EAS 3.0 electronic gearbox (electronically assisted shift up and down). There are eight stages of switchable traction control, and wheel control uses information from the traction platform.

The weight distribution of the 2023 MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Series Oro Sports Bike is different, even though it uses the high-performance engine, suspension, and frame of the Brutale 1000 RR.

The high-quality suspension includes a front-end Öhlins Nix E.C. fork with TiN coating that is fully adjustable and coating with electronic rebound and compression management. Spring preload can be adjusted manually. The only shock absorber is another electronically controlled Öhlins variant (E.C.T.X.).

It ensures 120mm of wheel travel when attached to a single-sided swingarm made of aluminum alloy with a height-adjustable pin (+/- 4 mm).

Additionally, the Öhlins steering damper has an electronic adjustment that can be combined with manual control. Brembo Stylus monobloc radial calipers, 320 mm discs, and a 220 mm steel disc make up an excellent braking system.

The forged aluminum alloy wheel rims, exclusive to C.R.C. for the Supervelos 1000 Series Oro, are distinguished by their five-spoke design and the clever integration of many fabrication methods.

Of course, the entire exhaust system is exceptional, with its iconic four-outlet configuration from the original, legendary F4. In partnership with Aero, the exhaust is made of titanium and is part of the package that comes with the bike. It is certified and stands out thanks to its prominent color.

A large 5.5″ T.F.T. color display serves as the focal point of the instrumentation, which has been overhauled for 2023 with specific visuals and all essential features. The MVRide app allows smartphone control of the engine and electronics, and the elegant backlit multipurpose electronic controls are still present.

One of the main advantages of the motorcycle rider interface is its connectivity, which is constantly being improved to better meet the user’s needs. It includes mobile connectivity, navigation, trip recording, and transmission of trip data.

2023 MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Series Oro Sports Bike

The 2023 MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Series Oro Sports Bike’s hypersport design development takes a unique approach far beyond aerodynamic research. In particular, the riding position is not aggressive but aims to ensure a more comfortable ride than a motorcycle in a lower performance-oriented segment.

The semi-handlebars are placed further back and higher than on a typical supersport bike. Their height adjustment makes it possible to triangulate the footpegs, handlebars, and saddle in a highly customizable manner. The suspension with specific calibration and electronic control is another aspect that makes the bike design less radical than the futuristic lines and undoubtedly the hyper sport design of the Superveloce 1000 Series Oro.
