Built To Fit

Engine
The new 2024 Kawasaki KX85 Dirt Bike features a high-performance 2-stroke engine with a cylinder head squish area and an improved combustion chamber for more power. The new single-ring piston decreases friction for better engine response. The new resin crankshaft blocks increase primary compression pressure for more power, while the weighted crankshaft adds rigidity and ultimate durability. The all-new cylinder is Nikasil-plated for higher durability. An all-new exhaust and carefully designed scavenging port shapes further help boost power. The large radiator comes standard for optimal cooling.
The new 2024 Kawasaki KX85 Dirt Bike features robust bearing retainers for the small-end and big-end needle bearings, with high load capacity for durability. The lightweight, simple design is relatively easy and inexpensive to maintain.
The lightweight flywheel with new rare-earth magnets also enhances low-end engine response. The intake and exhaust port bridges are machine-finished to resist seizure. The new exhaust port window is further designed to enhance port velocity, and the outlet increases flow for more mid-range and top-end power. The new piston has four wrist-pin oiling holes for better durability like in 2023 Kawasaki KX85.
The new carbon fibre reeds improve throttle response, and the fibres are set at a 45-degree angle to tune reed flexibility for accurate response. Optional carburettor tuning jets let the rider easily optimise performance for different riding conditions.
6-Speed Transmission
The transmission shaft splines are designed for enhanced durability and smoother shifting. The thrust washer system further enhances lubrication and decreases friction. The robust gear engagement dogs also help provide positive shift feel. The shift fork ends are hard-chrome finished for durability.
Kawasaki Integrated Power Valve System (KIPS) (KP)
The new two-piece exhaust valve improves sealing and overall engine performance. This system varies exhaust port height for better horsepower and torque. The new breather in the KIPS cover relieves exhaust pressure for accurate KIPS valve action and better high-rpm performance.
The new KIPS lever stopper spring absorbs governor “overstroke” for ultimate durability. The KIPS governor features a long stroke to open the cylinder valves fully. A governor spring and approximately 8mm of bearing boss further add durability.
High Tensile Steel Perimeter Frame
The new sturdy perimeter frame, designed to harness the engine’s power, offers strength and torsional rigidity so that young riders can push hard on the track.
Roomy, Adjustable Ergonomics
The new radiator shroud design directs air efficiently to the radiator, improving cooling performance. The new shrouds also accommodate a broad range of riders and make it easier for taller riders to find a good fit on the dirt bike.
Six-way adjustable clamps hold the new handlebar. Rotating the clamps allows 10 mm of forward movement, and you can raise the height by 5 or 10 mm by installing one or two 5mm shims between the new clamp and the triple clamp. The new flat seat sits atop the fuel tank, giving the rider freedom of movement.
The shroud and side number plates also help give freedom of movement. The new gas tank is positioned for better handling and a lower centre of gravity. The broad footpegs come standard for better control; they’re cast steel for strength and use 10mm pivots for durability.
Frame
The new petal discs reduce unsprung weight and help clean the brake pads for highly efficient braking. The new Dunlop MX33 tyres give excellent grip, slide control, bump absorption and ultimate durability.
