The 2024 Honda NX500 Adventure Motorcycle is a compact, versatile machine designed to offer excellent city agility and genuine off-road capability. It blends comfort with aggressive rally-inspired styling through its fairing and large screen, both of which are shaped to provide strong wind protection. High-specification technology is included as standard, with a 5-inch TFT display featuring Honda RoadSync smartphone connectivity. The A2-compliant twin-cylinder engine delivers flexible and highly enjoyable performance, assisted by HSTC traction control for added confidence.
The return of the iconic “NX” designation, meaning “New X-over”, signals a motorcycle made to handle everything from winding roads and gravel tracks to long-distance adventures. Building on the success of the previous CB500X, the 2024 Honda NX500 Adventure Motorcycle introduces updated styling along with multiple specifications and performance improvements.
Handling is sharper thanks to a 3-kilogram reduction in kerb weight, with 1.5 kilograms saved through new lightweight 5-spoke cast aluminium wheels. Revised spring and damping settings for the Showa 41mm Separate Function Fork Big Piston (SFF-BP) suspension further enhance road feel, while updated fuel injection improves acceleration response.

2024 Honda NX500 Adventure Motorcycle – Features and Specs
Styling & Equipment
Guided by the “Daily Crossover” design theme, the 2024 Honda NX500 Adventure Motorcycle carries a compact adventure-style silhouette with strong presence, allowing it to look at home in the city, on backroads, highways or gravel trails. A new LED headlight maintains long-range beam penetration while casting a wider spread of light for improved visibility during nighttime riding and cornering, complemented by a matching LED taillight and full LED lighting throughout.
Premium technology comes via a new 5-inch full-colour TFT display taken from the XL750 Transalp, using optical bonding to reduce glare and improve clarity in bright sunlight. Riders can choose between Bar, Circle or Simple display themes, and the screen also integrates Honda RoadSync smartphone connectivity.

When paired with a Bluetooth helmet headset, the system enables turn-by-turn navigation, music playback and call management. A simplified, backlit 4-way toggle switch on the left handlebar makes the system easy to control. A slim seat profile promotes free movement and helps with easy ground reach, while a 38-degree steering angle improves low-speed manoeuvrability.
Gunmetal grey tapered steel handlebars enhance control, and the 830mm seat height creates an upright, commanding riding position with excellent visibility. The motorcycle measures 2,165mm in length, 830mm in width and 1,415mm in height, with 180mm of ground clearance. A 17.5-litre fuel tank, combined with the engine’s 3.6L/100km consumption, provides a range of more than 480 kilometres.

Chassis
The 35mm steel diamond-tube mainframe remains unchanged but continues to offer a tuned degree of flex that provides clear feedback over varying surfaces. Engine-mount positioning and the frame’s rigidity balance reduce unwanted vibration. The wheelbase is 1,445mm, with rake and trail set at 27.5 degrees and 108mm, and weight distribution split 48.7 per cent at the front and 51.3 per cent at the rear. Kerb weight is 196 kilograms, which is three kilograms lighter than the CB500X. The Showa 41mm SFF-BP upside-down forks divide spring and damping functions between the two legs and deliver excellent response and ride quality.
They offer 135mm of axle travel and 150mm of cushion stroke, supported by revised spring and damping settings for improved performance both on and off the road. A single-tube rear shock with 135mm of axle travel and a 60mm cushion stroke features updated settings, a large-diameter piston for improved thermal stability, and 5-stage preload adjustment. The 2mm steel swingarm uses a hollow cross member for rotational stiffness and lateral flex to enhance handling.

Newly designed cast aluminium wheels reduce unsprung mass by 800 grams at the front and 700 grams at the rear, improving overall handling. A 19-inch front wheel pairs with a 17-inch rear, fitted with 110/80-R19 and 160/60-R17 trail-pattern tyres. Braking is provided by dual 296mm front discs with Nissin two-piston callipers and a 240mm rear disc with a single-piston calliper.
Engine
The A2-compatible 471cc liquid-cooled eight-valve parallel twin engine balances a compact physical design with an energetic, enjoyable power output. It produces 35kW at 8,600rpm and 43Nm of torque at 6,500rpm, giving the 2024 Honda NX500 Adventure Motorcycle a rev-happy character with lively top-end performance. New for this model year is Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), which monitors front and rear wheel speeds to detect slip and modulates fuel injection to smoothly reduce torque. The system can also be fully disabled if preferred.
Airflow into the PGM-FI system follows a straight path from the airbox to the throttle bodies, while optimised ignition timing and air-fuel ratios enhance low-rpm response and linear power delivery. Dual exhaust pipes create a sporty exhaust note and a crisp, high-rpm sound. The 67mm x 66.8mm bore and stroke work with a 10.7:1 compression ratio.

The crankshaft uses 180-degree phased pins and a compact primary couple-balancer located behind the cylinders to minimise vibration. Scissor gears on the primary and balancer shafts reduce mechanical noise, and the carefully shaped crank counterweight helps the engine spin freely with reduced inertia. The engine also acts as a stressed frame member through four mounting points. The cylinder head uses lightweight roller rocker arms and shim-type valve adjustment to reduce friction.
A silent SV cam chain treated with Vanadium improves wear resistance, while 26mm intake valves and 21.5mm exhaust valves support efficient breathing. The piston skirt features lubricating striations to reduce friction at high rpm. The compact crankcase design reduces pumping losses, while a deep sump keeps oil stable during hard cornering and braking. Oil capacity is 3.2 litres. A six-speed gearbox delivers smooth shifts, and the assist/slipper clutch prevents rear-wheel hop during aggressive downshifting.
Accessories
Honda offers a full range of Genuine Accessories developed alongside the 2024 Honda NX500 Adventure Motorcycle for perfect fitment.
