Inside, BMW has replaced the previous instrument cluster and its occasionally unclear digital screens with a new TFT Connectivity display, which is a significant improvement. Producing 136 horsepower at 7,750 rpm and 14.5 mkg of torque at 6,250 rpm, it retains a smooth yet commanding feel. With 11.2 mkg available from 2,000 to 8,250 rpm, it delivers constant drive throughout the range. Fully Euro 5 compliant, the engine ensures quiet operation without compromising strength or efficiency. The ShiftCam technology enhances the engine’s flexibility and response, delivering noticeable improvement in power at lower and mid-range speeds.
This variable valve timing system allows the twin engine to deliver extra torque and smoothness at lower speeds while maintaining strong high-end performance. It offers two distinct mechanical personalities within a single machine, combining refinement and strength with advanced electronics for superior control.
Modern motorcycles rely heavily on electronic rider aids, and the 2024 BMW R 1250 RS Sports Motorcycle incorporates them all. It comes equipped with Road, Eco, and Rain modes, along with DTC traction control and Hill Start Control. Opting for the Pro Riding Mode unlocks two additional settings—Dynamic and Dynamic Pro—with the latter being customizable.

Unlike some earlier models, the 2024 BMW R 1250 RS Sports Motorcycle no longer uses BMW’s Telelever front suspension, which was discontinued for this model in 2015. Instead, it features a sturdy 45 mm inverted fork similar to that of the former S 1000 RR, complemented by the Paralever rear setup and a tubular steel frame. Braking power comes from dual 320 mm front discs with four-piston radial callipers, while the rear features a 276 mm disc with a twin-piston calliper. As of 2020, ABS deactivation is no longer possible.
