Compact 649cc Twin-Cylinder, DOHC Engine
The radiator fan core for Kawasaki Air Management System (KP) (KAMS) helps to direct hot engine air to the ground and away from the rider. The compact parallel twin engine helps keep the overall proportions of the motorcycle modest and agile. From 3-6,000 rpm, the engine is designed to deliver mighty, responsive power for stop-to-speed speeds.
The engine is tiny from front to rear due to the triangular crank and the transmission shaft layout. A semi-dry sump (KP) oil system reduces the total height of the engine. And the small pitch of the chrome composite (KP) plated aluminum cylinder helps to reduce the engine width.
Digital Fuel Injection (KP)
For optimal performance and riding ability, the 38mm Keyhan throttle bodies include dual throttle valves (KP). The ECU controls the sub-throttle, located behind the main throttle valves, to provide a more accurate response to the DFI® system, similar to a constant speed carburetor.
Emissions are significantly reduced when the exact fuel injection is combined with the exhaust catalyzer. Starting and warm-up are facilitated with an automatic rapid idle system.
Frame
For ride comfort, rubber front engine mounts help reduce vibration.
The primary and unusual double-pipe perimeter frame (KP) contributes to the lightweight handling nature of the product. The seat is held tight by a backbone-style rear sub-frame, allowing for a thicker cushion and easier access to the ground.
For more excellent travel capability, a sturdy rear sub-frame accepts the device’s direct mount saddle bag and an optional accessory top case can be fitted simultaneously.
