Among his accomplishments are two National Super Stock 1000 championships in 2014 and 2017 and Buchan’s maiden BSB Superbike-class victory at Knockhill in 2019.

Buchan has lately competed with the Synetiq BMW team, and on occasion, he has shown a race-winning pace comparable to that he demonstrated during his time with Kawasaki. Buchan has had some rough patches, particularly with the S1000RR and, more recently, the M1000RR. These ups and downs have marred Buchan’s 2023 season due to his struggles with consistency and injuries.

First of all, I want to thank Clarissa, Sommai, and Jonny for bringing everything together,” Danny Buchan stated of his transfer to DAO Racing. It’s no secret that 2023 has been a failure, so the fact that DAO Racing thinks I have no chance is enormous. The team’s ultimate objective is to place in the top three and win races consistently. I’m thrilled to return on a bike I have fond memories of riding and am honored to be a part of this endeavor. The Kawasaki ZX-10RR is performing well in BSB right now, so I’m hoping we can go directly to work on a test plan and plenty of laps over the winter and have a successful first season together. I appreciate all the cheerleaders, sponsors, and friends stuck by me this year. To the year 2024!

With Buchan now working for DAO, the Manx squad is shifting its emphasis. DAO Racing, led by Dean Harrison, has been one of the best road racing teams in recent years, but the team will begin focusing on short circuits and the British Superbike Championship in 2024. Buchan’s signing comes after the news that Harrison would depart the club to find a spot for the 2024 road racing season.

According to Ross Burridge, Kawasaki UK’s Head of Marketing and racing, “Danny has been part of the Team Green family for many years now, and it’s great to have him back on board for next season!” We know he has the potential to compete at the head of the Superbike class. Now that he has joined this incredibly experienced team with a solid crew around him, we are optimistic that he will hit the ground running in 2024 after what has been a trying 2023 for him.
