After a six-year absence from Honda’s European lineup, the 2024 Honda CBR600RR ABS Sports Motorcycle returns for the 2024 model year to strengthen the middleweight supersport category. It features MotoGP-inspired electronics and aerodynamic enhancements, along with a significantly updated engine that produces 89 kW at 14,250 rpm and 63 Nm at 11,500 rpm.
The chassis is designed to deliver both quick directional changes and high-speed stability. It includes a twin-spar aluminium frame, aluminium swingarm, Showa 41 mm Big Piston USD front forks, and a Unit Pro-Link Showa rear shock. Engine
The 2024 Honda CBR600RR ABS Sports Motorcycle BR600RR is powered by a 599 cc, 16-valve inline four-cylinder engine that produces 89 kW at 14,250 rpm and 63 Nm of torque at 11,500 rpm. To achieve this performance at high engine speeds, key components such as the camshafts, valve springs, and crankshaft have been upgraded for improved durability and reduced inertia. The engine comes with a bore and stroke of 67 mm and 42.5 mm, with a compression ratio of 12.2:1.
The intake, combustion, and exhaust systems have been extensively refined. A 44 mm throttle body ensures sufficient airflow at high rpm, while the intake ports and throttle valve areas are shaped to reduce pressure loss and improve airflow efficiency. The inlet ports have been redesigned to increase flow capacity, enhancing engine performance.
Throttle-by-wire technology ensures smooth, precise throttle response, particularly at partial throttle openings. Valve timing has been revised to improve intake efficiency and exhaust flow, thereby improving overall engine performance.
The exhaust system features a 4-2-1 configuration with large-diameter piping to improve high-rpm gas flow. The catalytic converter has been enlarged to meet EURO5 standards while maintaining performance.
An assist-and-slipper clutch reduces rear-wheel instability during aggressive downshifting and braking while also lowering the effort required to operate the clutch.
Engine Electronics
The Throttle-By-Wire system is derived from the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and was originally developed for the RC213V-S. It uses an Acceleration Position Sensor integrated into the throttle grip to communicate with the ECU, ensuring precise and natural throttle control.
The electronic package includes Honda Selectable Torque Control with nine adjustable levels, allowing riders to manage wheel slip effectively. The system monitors wheel speeds and adjusts power delivery to maintain traction.
The motorcycle offers three default riding modes, including Mode 1 for aggressive riding, Mode 2 for balanced performance, and Mode 3 for comfort. Two additional user modes allow full customisation of settings.
Power output can be adjusted across five levels, while engine braking and wheelie control can be adjusted across multiple levels. The wheelie control system uses data from the IMU and wheel speed sensors to maintain stability without compromising acceleration.
A standard quick shifter enables fast and smooth gear changes, with adjustable sensitivity levels to suit rider preference.
Chassis
The 2024 Honda CBR600RR ABS Sports Motorcycle features a lightweight twin-spar aluminium frame designed for optimal rigidity and handling performance. The wheelbase is 1370 mm, with a rake angle of approximately 24 degrees and a trail of 100 mm. The kerb weight is 193 kg.

A Honda Electronic Steering Damper adjusts damping based on speed, providing reduced resistance at low speeds and increased stability at higher speeds.

A full-colour TFT display offers multiple display modes, including Street, Circuit, and Mechanic. It provides information such as lap times, gear position, and shift indicators.
