The Technique
The new 2024 Ducati Scrambler Icon Street Bike has been comprehensively updated and lightened by 8.8 lb, resulting in a motorcycle that is noticeably easier to ride. The trellis frame has been redesigned and lightened, while the updated swingarm and repositioned rear shock improve balance and handling. Engine updates further contribute to weight reduction and enhanced rideability. The rear subframe is now easily removable without altering the main frame, appealing to custom bike builders.
Handling improvements also stem from a slightly increased steering angle, giving riders greater control. Newly designed wheels measure 18 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear. The Desmodue engine has been modernised, shedding approximately 5.5 lb and receiving a new eight-disc clutch that offers a lighter, smoother action. The more compact clutch design creates additional foot room, while a bearing-mounted shift drum improves gearshift precision.
All of these updates combine to position the new Ducati Scrambler as a benchmark in its class.
Ride-by-wire throttle control enhances both enjoyment and safety by delivering a smooth, progressive response at all engine speeds. It enables the introduction of Ducati Traction Control and two Riding Modes: Road and Wet. Wet mode is specifically tuned for low-grip conditions, offering gentler throttle response and traction control focused on stability. Standard equipment also includes Cornering ABS for enhanced safety during braking while leaned over.
Ride-by-wire technology also allows the Desmodue engine to be equipped with an optional Quick Shift up/down system, which is standard on the Full Throttle version. The Ducati Multimedia System is available as an accessory, enabling smartphone connectivity for calls and music. The air-cooled two-valve twin-cylinder engine delivers a maximum power output of 73 hp.
Future Comes In Colours
The next generation of Scrambler Ducati introduces a bold, future-focused approach while remaining deeply rooted in its heritage. It offers a digitally creative and technologically engaging experience that feels unmistakably modern.
