YZ65 has a sturdy steel frame and adjustable front and rear suspension, providing riders with the traction, confidence, and adjustability of a full-size off-road motorcycle in a compact package.
Engine Features
The 65cc two-stroke power unit has the same advanced technology as Yamaha’s award-winning YZ125 and YZ250 off-road motorcycles. The well-tuned Keihin PWK28 carburetor can measure fuel flow. The proven reed valve sensing improves the acceleration and throttle response of the entire powerband. The patented YPVS combines strong mid-end torque and free-spinning high-end torque, making full use of the compact engine and lightweight chassis.
The six-speed, close gear ratio optimizes the gear ratio to achieve the best performance, so that the rider can get the right gear in every race condition. This bike features a digital CDI system which provides the precise spark and monitors engine speed to ensure the best timing for excellent response. The compact radiator provides maximum cooling efficiency even in the harshest race conditions.
Chassis/Suspension Features
YZ65 provides lightweight, neutral handling on a sturdy steel support frame. The frame is designed around the rigid balance required for the 65cc level. It has excellent cushioning and absorption capacity in the most rugged track section, jumping landing zone, and high-sound area. Just like a full-size cross-country motorcycle, the movable aluminum rear subframe is made of a square section tubing to reduce weight and facilitate maintenance. Wave brake discs are lighter than conventional brake discs and have a full-size YZ series style.
Based on Yamaha’s extensive testing experience, the 36mmKYB coil spring fork has excellent compliance at the front. The backlink less shock absorption design is light and compact, and it works through a rear rocker arm with a YZ125 chain adjuster. Both the front suspension system and the rear suspension system can adjust rebound and compression damping. Maxxcross SI tires utilize 60/100-14 front tire sizes and 80/100-12 rear tire sizes to provide excellent grip in various track and field conditions.
