1299 Panigale 2017 Ducati Heavy Bike – Specifications

1299 Panigale 2017 Ducati Heavy Bike

Engine

The all-new 1299 Panigale 2017 Ducati Heavy Bike features the new Superquadro’s bore to stroke ratio of 1.91:1 ensures an ultimate performance. The short-stroke crankshaft and enormous piston are combined with the large Desmodromically-actuated valves, which allows this bike to perform well. The 1285cc combustion chamber guarantees the best torque with its L-twin engine. The clutch cover, cylinder head covers and an oil pan are cast in golden-color magnesium alloy to make the engine stronger and lighter. An electronic Ride-by-Wire system is responsible to control the opening and closing of the throttle. There is no mechanical connection between the twin grip and the throttle bodies, which allows the engine ECU to regulate the power delivery directly adjusting the throttle. The ride-by-wire system work with different riding modes as well. The crankcase is produced by using the vacuum casting technology called as Vacural. This technology makes the crankcase much stronger with uniform wall thickness. It is designed to incorporate the water jacket around the cylinder barrels. This engine uses the wet barrels coated in Nicasil, which were inserted during initial stage of assembly into the engine’s hole during. This new design lets the head to be fastened directly onto the new crankcase providing the rigidity and compactness. The cylinder barrels can efficiently transfer heat to the coolant due to the thin structure of crankcase. This engine uses the large intake valves fed by an advanced oval-section throttle body, which emphasizes the high air flow for maximum power output. These valves are independently controlled by the Ride-by-Wire system. The throttle bodies are connected with 2-fuel injectors. The first is set just below the body and it is optimized for lower RPM conditions. The second is fitted above the throttle body and it is used when the rider has to use the full power. The centrifugal decompressor is connected at the end of exhaust camshaft of each cylinder dead. This device lets the profile of the cam opening lobe to be modified slightly lifting a valve so that the part of combustion charge can escape the chamber during the compression phase of the engine. When the engine starts, the increase in rpm and associated centrifugal force modify the decompressor and cancel the valve lift effect to bring the engine back to the normal operating conditions. The main bearings are lubricated by the pressurized oil through ducts inside the engine block. It provides an efficient lubrication of the new crankshaft with the rapid recovery of oil due to the lobe pump that puts the connecting rod compartment under vacuum. Each part is optimized for better performance like 2017 Ducati 1299 Panigale S. There is an efficient Desmodromic system to control the large valves. This 1299 Panigale 2017 Ducati Heavy Bike uses the mixed gear and chain drive system, which precisely transmits the motion between the crankshaft and camshaft.

Chassis

The new 1299 Panigale 2017 Ducati Heavy Bike comes with the new Monoscocca chassis, which is not only compact, rigid and lightweight but multi-functional as well. The chassis is cast aluminum and it attaches at its rear directly to the heads of superquadric engine. It features the steering head and bearings at its front section. The Monoscocca also serves as the airbox in this motorcycle, which not only reduces the overall weight but it looks good as well. In this airbox, there is enough space for an air filter, throttle bodies, fuel circuit with injectors. The use of new Pirelli’s Diablo Supersorsa SP tires with the road version provides the best riding experience. It has 120/70 ZR17 at the front while the rear has 200/55xZR17. These tires are designed for best ride plus the rear tire maximizes the area of contact during corners. These tires are manufactured according to the Pirelli’s experience of superbike championships. They ensure maximum rigidity and constant grip. The use of advanced polymers facilitates the rapid heating of tires with the constant grip. The new Ducati bike features the perfect ergonomics and it establishes the best connection between the rider and motorcycle. The position of seat and handlebar ensure the comfortable riding position. The switch gear and dash are designed for information and pleasure. The aluminum footpegs ensure the best foot comfort so that rider only focuses on the ride. The wheels have tri-Y spoke black aluminum wheel when the front of 3.5-inch and rear of 6-inch. It provides an ultimate stability at high speed.
