Power Tank Technology

The all-new 2017 Zero DS and DSR Electric Motorcycle features new Z-Force motor. It is the compact, efficient and powerful motor. This motor delivers excellent acceleration to the top speed of 98 mph, and it is full air-cooled like the one used in 2017 Zero FX Electric Motorcycle. This motor provides the fantastic riding experience, and it does not need any regular maintenance. When the bike slows down, it generates electricity that is channelled back into the power pack in helping to extend the rider times.

Frame and Bodywork

The new 2017 Zero DS and DSR Electric Motorcycle features an aircraft-grade aluminium which is exclusively used in the construction of twin spar frame. It is very light in weight, compact and reliable, which is one of the reasons why this bike is easy to handle on dirt and street. These bikes are designed to achieve the low centre of gravity for great manoeuvring and excellent response. It features the sleek bodywork with an aggressive and naked look. The tank section of the body contains an integrated storage compartment that is lockable and removable. The rider can easily toggle between three riding profiles using ergonomic right-hand switch gear. There are three available riding profiles i.e. Sport, Eco and Custom. The new dash screen has cool blue backlit LCD light, and it integrates seamlessly into the front of the bike.

Zero Motorcycles App

By using the Zero Motorcycles App, the rider can see the detail information about the bike such as a time until charged, total charge cycles and average watts per mile and much more. When it is parked, this app allows the rider to set the custom riding mode’s performance profile by adjusting the parameter for max torque, top speed and max regenerative braking. During the ride, the phone can be transformed into the customised dash that offers the detailed real-time information about the bike. This app perfectly works on iPhone and Android mobile device and can easily be synced using Bluetooth.

Direct Drive Gearing

The new 2017 Zero DS and DSR Electric Motorcycle features the clutchless direct drive for rapid acceleration and max efficiency. Without any need to shift, the acceleration is controlled and powerful at any speed from 0-98 mph. The carbon fibre belt features minimum frictional losses for better overall range, and it is integral to making the powertrain quiet and maintenance-free.

The new 2017 Zero DS and DSR Electric Motorcycle features an excellent charging system. The charging options of these bikes are designed to fit the lifestyle of every rider. These Zero Bikes comes as a standard with the straightforward and lightweight cable that just plugs into any household outlet. There is also a charge tank accessory for faster charging. It effectively triples the onboard charging speed. It allows the rider to recharge their power pack within 2-3 hours at level 2 charging stations. It will result in up to 49 miles of riding range for each hour of charging time. The “Quick Charger” system of Zero Motorcycle reduces the charging time. This system uses the four stand-alone 1 kW offboard chargers. It works in conjunction with the bike’s standard onboard charger.
